Be The Team 2011 was officially launched on 1st September 2010; the nationwide competition is giving the chance for a netball team in England to win a £3,500 prize package to support the development of their club – from equipment to kit, from coaching courses to sports bras and even a new club website.

The Regional League Handbooks are now available for download on the 'Leagues and Competitions' pages of this website. A hard copy will be sent out to all team managers shortly.

The Rules and Regulations are currently not available but will be on the website soon.

Please note that the Squad Registration sheets must be with the Regional Office by Friday, 10th September 2010. 

Jersey Netball Association (JNA) are once again hosting The Jersey Open Netball Tournament welcoming all club teams of all abilities!

Following a formal ballot of the IFNA Full Members a resolution was passed to change the Rules of Netball. In summary, the changes now allow coaching from the side line during stoppages (including injuries).

You should update your rule book with the new rules as soon as possible. You can download a description of the changes, or read them below.

Avon-based Judith Groves has secured yet another overseas officiating appointment.

Judith has already travelled to Kingston, Jamaica as an IFNA International Umpire for an Under 21 Test Series involving Jamaica and Australia and is now jet-setting again to Johannesburg. From 5th September until 11th September 2010, Johannesburg plays host to the African Qualifying Championship and our own South West official will be there!

England Netball is inviting qualified Level 2 coaches to join their tutor workforce to deliver the UKCC Level 1 & 2 qualifications.

If you can demonstrate any of the following...

• Good presentation skills
• Confidence in and some experience of working with adult learners
• An interest in developing interactive tutoring/assessing skills
• Strong inter-personal skills
• Relevant netball coaching experience and knowledge, or specialist technical knowledge
• Commitment to England Netball to develop a quality coach education programme
• Willingness to help, support and develop others
• Enjoyment of the sport of Netball

The World Netball Series 2010 will be held at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on the 19th-21st November 2010.

This is your chance to be part of the amazing volunteer workforce that will be working hard behind the scenes at this year’s event to make sure it’s the hottest ever!

PMJ Netball Club young adults are showing the way in terms of volunteering. Several of the clubs young adults have become members of Young Volunteers projects. PMJ Netball Club is keen to develop young athletes in roles other than playing and have formed a mentoring project within the club to help young adults forge an interest in either Coaching or Umpiring.

Is there a netball rule which drives you nuts or which you wish could be changed? This could be your chance to affect the way our great game is played, all around the world!

The next IFNA rules review will be conducted in 2011 and England Netball is requesting members to submit any rules suggestions as soon as possible via the rules review form on their website.
