Netball South West Extension Centre Site Visit to Bath University

On Thursday 26th October 20 young athletes from various Extension Centre Sites in the South West, attended a training session and match play at The University of Bath. The athletes were selected from Extension Centre sites at Truro, Plymouth, Gloucester and Jersey. Coaches Denise Ellis and Jean Davies who are the Co-Coaches of the Team Bath Futures group put together a coaching session for the athletes in the afternoon followed by a tour of the facilities and culminating in meeting senior players from the Team Bath 2006-2007 Super League side and Head Coach Jan Crabtree.

After the meeting the senior players, the young athletes were then tested in match play by a select side from the South Region Extension Centre players and South Region Junior Club, Weston Park U18 side.
Match play was fast and furious with the players from the South West experiencing playing together for the first time against quality opposition. All the players thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to their next visit which will be February 2007.
