High 5 - KS2

High Five Netball is a modified version of Netball for 9-11 year olds. High Five Netball is the only game that primary school age children (9-11 years) should be playing and the only game that England Netball, Netball's governing body advocates for this age group. High Five Netball is a fun, skillful game in which players rotate positions and adapt their skills to suit any place on the court. The game was developed through extensive consultation with coaches, teachers and educationalists. This adapted game fits in perfectly with the LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development) model which basically means teaching and coaching the right skills at the right time in a child/athlete's development.

England Netball and Netball South West provide support and resources ONLY for High Five Netball for boys and girls playing in primary schools.

A Basic Overview Of High Five Netball:

  • Aimed at years 5 & 6
  • 5 players on the court per team
  • Other squad members take on the role of time keeper, scorer, and umpire
  • Squad rotation
  • Size 4 Netball
  • 9 foot post
  • 4 seconds to mark the ball
  • Normal court markings, up to a full size court
  • 4 quarters of 6 minutes

For an information pack containing details on organising a High Five event, High Five rules, frequently asked questions and a guide to the game please email your request to the Regional Office southwest@englandnetball.co.uk.
