Young Netball Organiser (Young Leaders Course)

Who is the course aimed at? Students/Young Leaders aged 14-19 years
Course delivery This course can be delivered in curriculum time by any teacher with Netball experience.
Duration 6 hours. It can be delivered in 1 or 2 hour sections if desired.
Course outcomes and objectives
  • To provide students (aged 14-19) with the basics of starting to organise safe, fun and purposeful netball sessions for 7 to 11 year olds.
  • The course covers basic movement and ball skills, and planning and organising netball fun days and tournaments.
What next? Students who have worked through the course will make excellent volunteers to support a primary High 5 festival or offer coaching support to linked primary schools. Some students may wish to progress to a UKCC level 1 coaching course or a C Award umpiring course.

Youth Umpire Award

The aim of this course is to promote youth officiating, help candidates acquire an improved knowledge and understanding of the game whilst learning the generic skills of umpiring with the opportunity to progress onto achieving the ‘C' Umpire Award.

This course can be delivered by teachers either within the curricula; extra curricula or a club environment, however prior to the course being delivered teachers must attend an orientation workshop. For further information regarding this Award please visit our Umpiring Courses.
