• Purpose of the Website

The purpose of the website is to:

• Promote netball in the South West

• Promote the activities and work of Netball South West (Regional Netball Association)

• Provide up to date information for:

• Existing affiliated members of Netball South West (NSW)
• Schools in the South West Region
• Prospective members of NSW
• The partners of NSW

• Website Structure

The aim is to enable both experts and novices to find the information that they are seeking.  The overall design ethos is to provide simple navigation and to present content clearly.

The website is constructed using the High Level Design (HLD) shown in Appendix 1.  Changes to the HLD must be presented to the Media and Communications Regional Working Group for approval.

A standard footer on each page of the site carries:

• A link to a general disclaimer of content accuracy

The site carries advertising from carefully selected organisations that provide netball education and/or netball related goods and services. 

• Content Management Responsibilities

There are five groups/individuals involved in content management.  This ensures that the appropriate level of control is exerted and that all the knowledge and skill needed to maintain the content’s relevance, timeliness and accuracy are not vested in a single individual.  The groups/individuals are as follows;

• Website Editor
• Regional Manager
• Regional Administrator
• Media and Communications Regional Working Group (MCRWG)
• Regional Management Board

• Safety and Privacy

The safety and privacy of children and adults whose image or work appears on the site is of paramount importance and will be accorded the utmost respect.  The objective is to prevent them being identified by people who do not already know them.  To this end, the following rules will be rigidly applied:

• Images of children will not be labelled with their names
• Images of children will only be shown in groups of three or more
• Images of children will only be shown where they are suitably dressed
• Images of children or adults will not be shown that in any way demeans them or could cause them distress
• Personal details of children, staff and volunteers will not be used (e.g. home addresses)

In addition:

• Parents/guardians/carers have the right to refuse permission for their child’s image to be shown on the site
• Adults have the right to refuse permission for their image to be shown on the site
• Any request by any person in writing for the removal of images of themselves or their children will be actioned urgently.  Requests should be completed on the NSW Image Removal form and forwarded to both the Regional Office and Website Editor.

• Linked Sites

The following rules apply to linked sites:

• Links will be limited to reputable organisations that are primarily concerned with netball or sports development
• The content of linked sites will be checked by the Website Editor from time to time, but the Netball South West takes no responsibility for their content
• Any links to sites deemed to contain unsuitable content will be removed immediately after discovery or reporting of the offending material

• Legal Issues and Copyright

Every effort will be made to ensure that the site’s content is up to date and accurate.  However, the content is published in good faith as a general guide but must not be taken as a legal statement unless this is specifically stated.

Every effort will be made to ensure that copyright material is not used illegally on the site.  Copyright will be acknowledged in all cases.

The site’s content will be under regular review by the MCRWG via the Website Editor and, in case of any concern over the inclusion of material, the MCRWG’s decision is final.
